Iko Uwais as Rama / Yuda, the rookie SWAT unit member turned undercover police. Rama integrates himself as a foot soldier (infantry) in the Bangun crime family in order to uncover corruption in his police force. The higher Rama rises through Bangun's mob ranks, the better his chances of identifying crooked cops with mob ties. But the higher he rises, the more he risks his true identity being discovered.

Oka Antara as Eka, adviser to the head of the biggest crime family in Jakarta. Eka serves as Bangun's right hand man, and would be the next in line to rule Bangun's empire if it were not for Bangun's son, Uco.
Tio Pakusadewo as Bangun, a feared mob boss who runs crime in Jakarta. He has ruled the city with the Goto family from Japan in relative peace.Alex Abbad as Bejo, a young, self-made gangster with ambitions of greatness and an arsenal of assassins ready to die for him. Hammer Girl and her brother, "Baseball Bat Man", left a broken home and an abusive father in search of greener pastures, which left death and destruction for anyone standing in their way.Ryuhei Matsuda as Keiichi, Goto's son and successor. Measured and cunning, Keiichi studies his father closely while preparing to emerge from Goto's shadow.
Kenichi Endo as Goto, boss of the Goto family. After years of fighting with Bangun for supremacy in Jakarta's underworld, Goto and Bangun put their differences aside and rule the city between them. While they work together to fight any threats to their power, the truce is fragile and the trust is weak.
Kazuki Kitamura as Ryuichi, Goto's right hand man, translator, and adviser. Like Eka, the only thing that stands between Ryuichi and the Goto throne is Goto's son Keiichi.
Cecep Arif Rahman as "The Assassin"; little is known about The Assassin other than his choice of weapons and his loyalty to Bejo. Armed with two kerambits (Indonesian traditional dagger-like weapon).
Cok Simbara as Bunawar, the chief of Jakarta's anti-corruption task force, always one step away from identifying and arresting crooked police officers who work with Jakarta's mob families. Using Rama as his secret weapon, Bunawar hopes to finally bring the whole empire of corruption down to its knees.
Yayan Ruhian as Prakoso, Bangun's most loyal and dedicated assassin, once lived a life of luxury, but has since led a life as a vagabond. He is the key to Bangun's survival in the city; the eye and ears that help control every aspect in the cityVery Tri Yulisman as "Baseball Bat Man", brother to "Hammer Girl". Plot [edit]
In a sugar cane field on the outskirts of Jakarta, a group of cars pull up along a path, with several gangsters
stepping out, taking along with them a man in jeans with a burlap sack over his head. As he's forced over to a frehly dug hole, the man is revealed to be Andi, Rama's brother from the first film, bloodied, bruised, and terrified. It is at this moment that Bejo, a slowly rising player in Indonesia's crime world, displays his displeasure towards Andi for trying to work his way up while working for the true crime boss of Indonesia's
domestic mob, Bangun. Before Andi can talk his way out of the dire situation, Bejo has one of his men shoot Andi point blank in the side of the head with a shotgun. The story jumps back to approximately a year, as Rama had just escaped from the apartment complex in Jakarta with Bowo and corrupt cop Wahyu. The three survivors meet up with Bunawar, the head of the anti-corruption task forceat an undisclosed location. While Bowo is escorted off to be presumably sent to a safe house, Wahyu is executed on sight, despite Rama's pleas otherwise. Rama is then brought up to speed about his situation, informed that Reza, one of the higher ups of Rama's police unit, will do everything in his power to remove any traces that would lead to his downfall... including Rama and his family. Bunawar gives Rama the chance to go undercover to help take down Reza and everyone else corrupt within the police force. Rama initially refuses, with Bunawar reassuring him that with all of the men who died in the Jakarta apartment raid, that they wouldn't notice one man gone missing.Back to the present, Rama and his family grieve the loss of Andi, pushing Rama to re-evaluate the plan to take down Reza and his followers. Rama is informed, however, that in order to do this, he will have to retrieve evidence that shows Reza in cahoots with Bangun and/or the leader of Indonesia's Japanese mob, Goto. But to get this close, Rama has to be arrested by Bunawar to go into jail and get close to Bangun's son and heir to the syndicate, Uco.As the plan needs to look real, Rama is arrested (under the alias "Yuda") for assault and battery of the son of a top political player in Jakarta, who was also enemies with Uco. Thus, this would give Rama the link needed to obtain Uco's good graces in the long run. However, because of the political pull the victim's father has, Rama's original mission of being in jail for a few months ballooned to potentially a few years. Initially, Rama is on the receiving end of Uco's arrogance, as he has to fight a gang of Uco's "clique" in the jail, leading to a large brawl inside of a bathroom stall. Uco, impressed by Rama's defenses against Uco's small army, offers Rama to join him, saying that loners don't make it long in prison. Rama initially refuses, knowing that he would just be a lowly grunt that wouldn't gain the respect needed to get in close to Uco and Bangun. One day in the prison yard, all of the prisoners are sitting around, when Rama suddenly realizes that there's about to be a hit, seeing various shivs and makeshift weapons being passed around. Assuming it's for him, Rama beings dismantling a broom, and quickly uses the shaft as a bo staff to stop one of the prisoners from attacking. But to Rama's surprise, the hit was not for him, but for Uco, by his own men. This quickly becomes to catalyst for a full blown prison riot, with the guards of the prison in a full-on, life-or-death, battle royale with the prisoners. Rama, now fully enveloped in his role as Yuda the prisoner, not only attacks the other prisoners, but the guards of the prison as well. As he soon realizes that Uco's death could mean both the failure of the mission and his own prolonged imprisonment, Rama rages through the crowd of prisoners and guards only to stop one of Uco's former men from killing him. As the three men are knocked out, they are dragged away by the guards.Later, we see Rama, now in civilian clothes, being led to the gates of the prison. While walking, Rama checks his clothes, only to discover that Bunawar had stashed a wire in his sleeve. Fearing this would be discovered, Rama removes it hastily. The moment he steps outside, we discover that his stay in jail lasted two years. Uco, who had already been released prior, arrives to take him to finally meet his father. Upon meeting Bangun and Eka, one of Bangun's enforcers, he thanks Rama for protecting Uco, but then bluntly asks him to remove his clothes. Confused, Rama is told that it's not that Bangun doesn't trust him, but that Bangun trusts no one. Rama, realizing this is
his only chance, begrudgingly removes his clothes, in order to confirm that he is not wearing a wire. After this awkward encounter, Eka takes Rama to his new housing, telling him that he hopes they have more in common than just working for Bangun. After Eka's departure, Rama turns on a CD player at full blast in order to obscure his voice when calling Bunawar. Rama, furious over both his extended prison stay and the surprise wire in his clothes, tells Bunawar that this wasn't what he signed up for. Infuriated, Rama gathers himself and hesitantly calls his wife. He discovers that she and their child are safe, as he apologizes for not being there for them. He then makes one request: just to hear his son playing in the background. His wife holds the phone out, as Rama suddenly remembers his motivation for taking this mission: to ensure his family's safety.Later, Rama is taken on his first "shakedown" with Uco and Eka to a porn den. Uco meets with the leader of the operation, only to explain that the money to ensure their anonymity from the law isn't enough anymore, and that the price has gone up. Rama, seeing a reflection in a nearby puddle, reveals that one of the men working in the den has a shotgun aimed at Uco under the table. Without hesitation, Rama attacks the henchman before he can shoot, thus setting off a chain reaction of both sides shooting at one another. The leader of the operation begins sprinting through the building, only for Rama to stop him after a brutal toss through a window.Rama, Uco, and Eka return to Bangun with the money, with Uco using this as an opportunity to ask his father if he can start moving up. Bangun reassures Uco that the time will come when he is ready. Perturbed, Uco leaves his father's office without saying another word. Later that night, Rama and Uco visit a club to blow off some steam. Amidst the activities, Uco receives a phone call, which gives Rama the opportunity to place a bug in Uco's wallet.Meanwhile, Bangun meets up with a more eccentric enforcer of his, Prakoso. He gives "'Koso" (as he's referred to throughout most of the story) an undisclosed amount of money to go after a small time gangster in the streets of Jakarta, stabbing him with a machete in a back alley. Despite his brutal demeanor, it is later discovered that he only works as an assassin for Bangun to provide money for his wife and child. It is around this time that it's discovered that Uco has been meeting up with Bejo, feeling like he can make more progress in the crime world with him than his own father. They discuss that the only way they have a chance to move up is if they can disrupt the decade long truce between the Indonesian and Japanese mobs. Meanwhile, as a display of gratitude towards Uco, Bejo brings out five of Uco's former "clique" from prison who tried to kill him. With the five of them bound, Uco begins to kill them one by one (similar to how Tama shot his former men one by one in the beginning of the previous film), until he reaches the last, Beni. As he was the one who nearly killed him until Rama intervened, he takes his time with this kill. But before he does so, he notices an usual triangularly shapped tattoo on his wrist. He doesn't think much of this, as Uco and Bejo continue discussing what is needed to set off a gang war between the two families. Bejo then realizes who can be used as a catalyst.Later, Uco and Prakoso meet at a nightclub, with Prakoso trying to explain the difference between being feared and being respected. Unphased by this, Uco leaves for the restroom, only for Prakoso to be ambushed in the now otherwise abandoned nightclub. He fights off as many of the henchman as possible, only to be wounded by several of them. In taking the fight into one of the back alleys, the scarred Prakoso is discovered by Uco... thus revealing his true intentions. Prakoso, with what little life he has left, is quickly dispatched by one of Bejo's top henchmen, "The Assassin".The next day, Uco tries to pass off Prakoso's death as being committed by the Japanese, but Bangun quickly shoots this theory down, saying Prakoso had enemies from all corners of Asia. Infuriated that this didn't trigger the gang war that Uco hoped for, he calls Bejo to tell his men to begin taking out members of both families to give the push that he needed. Thus, The Assassin, as well as Bejo's other top tier henchmen, Alicia the "Hammer Girl" and her brother the "Baseball Bat Man", being going on a killing spree across the territory. Amidst the chaos brewing in the area, Rama is also ambushed upon entering a taxi, leading to a fight in a nearby restaurant, in which Rama unknowingly burns the face of a police officer. After the initial attacks, the two families are brought together to acknowledge that this is the first sign of aggression from either side in a decade. Both Uco and Goto's son Keiichi try to place blame on the others side, with Bangun finally deciding that the most civil way to end the bloodshed is to accept blame directly.Meanwhile, Rama is trying to wrap his head around why police officers attacked him, only for Bunawar to pass it off as more of Reza's corrupt officers trying to take out anyone in the middle of the gang war. After hanging up with him, Rama is disturbed to be getting a call on what was essentially an unknown line. Upon picking up the phone, he sees Eka's name. Confused and frightened, he answers, only for Eka to tell Rama to get Uco out of the situation with his father.Uco, beaten by his father, finally shows his displeasure in how Bangun has taken no action to become to one lone mob boss in Indonesia, scolding him for apologizing to the Japanese. Amidst their argument, Bejo forces his way into the establishment. Uco then stands beside Bejo, with Bangun finally realizing what is going on. Uco, upon asking for forgiveness from his father, shoots him point blank in the head. Eka, about to retaliate, is shot in the leg, with Bejo about to finish him off. At this moment, Rama arrives, attempting to attack Bejo, but is quickly dispatched by The Assassin. After Rama's defeat, he's dragged away to be killed at an undisclosed location. However, while being transported, Eka catches up to Rama's abductors, resulting in a violent high speed pursuit. Rama defeats the four men in his vehicle, and manages to escape onto Eka's car. After this battle, Goto has an quick makeshift meeting with his son Keiichi and his enforcer Ryuichi, discovering that not only had Uco shot his own father, but that Reza had betrayed them and is working with Bejo as well. Goto realizes that war may be the only answer after all.Eka drives Rama to an abandoned wasteland area, losing blood from both the gun shot to the leg and potentially from stray shotgun pellets. He finally reveals to Rama that he knows who and what he is, and that he too had been working for Bunawar. With his dying breaths, he begs Rama to tell others that he never compromised his position and that he wasn't a criminal. Rama, infuriated that Bunawar essentially left one of his men to his own devices inside the crime world, tells Bunawar that he saved his life. Bunawar then informs him that someone has killed the corrupt police commissioner and that bodies are piling up around the city. Rama then asks him to answer only one question, asking if his family is still safe. With Bunawar confirming this, Rama asks to make sure they stay safe, no matter what happens to him. Hanging up, and asking "watch over me" (most likely to Andi, in sprit), he drives full force into the warehouse of Bejo's establishment, taking out multiple henchmen with the car and in hand to hand combat. After dispatching them, he runs up to continue his own personal raid.Amidst the battle brewing below, Uco tries to calm himself in the bathroom, and when about to tip a bathroom attendant, he discovers a microphone that Rama placed in his wallet. He then returns to a dinner meeting with Bejo and Reza, whom are meeting to negotiate the price for Reza's protection of their newly formed mob. Bejo is then informed that Rama has escaped, but before Bejo can send men after him, he's told that he's already inside the building. Upon this news flustering Bejo, he drops his cane, only to reveal a tattoo on his wrist, visible to Uco. Uco soon realizes that this is the same tattoo that was on Beni's wrist prior to killing him. Between the tattoo and the mic, mistaking it to be Bejo's, Uco suddenly realizes that Bejo has no plans to actually lead side by side with him.Meanwhile, as Rama continues moving up the building to find Bejo and Uco, he is stopped by Hammer Girl and Baseball Bat Man. As they are blocking the path Rama needs to pass through, a brutal fight ensues, with the two siblings fighting against him at full force. During the fight, Hammer Girl begins to wear down amidst Rama's attacks. This gives him the upper hand to use her own claw hammer against her, ripping out her throat in the process. Baseball Bat Man, infuriated by his sister's sudden demise, no longer attacks Rama with any skill, but rather brute rage and force. Rama uses this to his advantage, disarming him, and smashing the bat into his face, leaving it dangling upon impact.Rama, thinking the door they blocked would lead directly to Bejo, actually ends up in the kitchen of the restaurant. Amidst the cooks, he spots The Assassin. As the kitchen staff knows what is about to take place, they leave Rama and The Assassin to their own devices. Rama, realizing after his initial loss in their first battle that this is not an ordinary henchman, paces himself more carefully at the beginning of the fight. The battle increases, with Rama now more aware of The Assassin's method of fighting, and begins to gain the upper hand. However, The Assassin, growing more desperate, unleashes a pair of curved knives (karambit), and wounds Rama under the leg. The fight continues, but despite The Assassin's weaponry, Rama manages to stay on the defensive until he is able to disarm one of the karambit from him, leading to both fighters having one knife each. Both fighters deliver highly damaging knife swipes, covering the white floor of the kitchen in crimson red from their blood, until Rama is finally able to find an opening and slits The Assassin's throat.Exhausted, but with minimal energy left, Rama finally makes it to the main floor, dispatching the few henchmen Bejo has left in the process. However, when Bejo throws a shotgun to Reza to stop Rama, Uco intercepts it, and shoots Reza point blank in the face. Bejo, focused solely on Rama, takes his own shotgun in an attempt to kill him. Oblivious to Uco's current actions, Uco shoots Bejo in the leg and then between the shoulder and throat. As Bejo now lays dying, Uco drops the microphone he found onto Bejo, still unaware it was Rama who planted it. As Bejo reaches his hand towards him, Uco literally blows off half of Bejo's head with the shotgun. Uco then realizes that Rama is the only man left standing in his way, as he begins shooting the couch that he is hiding behind. Using a shattered mirror to get an approximation of Uco's location, Rama quickly leaps up to throw one of the karambit to distract him. Rama is able to get in close as Uco lets off another shotgun blast, as Rama slams his remaining karambit into his stomach. As Rama holds the karambit in Uco's stomach, they embrace, as Uco finally seems to realize the errors of his actions. Rama then lets Uco's lifeless body fall to the floor, as he slowly leaves the scene. Bunawar, knowing Rama's location, begins driving there in a panic, all while listening to another mic that was on Rama. As Rama slowly makes it back down to the warehouse, covered in blood and scars, he approaches the exit, only to stop and stare. It's revealed that Goto's gang, led by Keiichi, is standing at the gate. A silent (to the audience) dialogue takes place between the two men, with Keiichi giving Rama an approving smirk. The dialogue ends with Rama giving the only audible line between the two of them: "No... I'm done."
